This is a really great book for the college student or if you want to break in to the business in any area. Or if you just want to change jobs in the business. Tells you what to look into, who to send resumes to and how to go about it. I wish that there had been something like this when I got started in the business. |
Maybe you want to be a tech? If you are interested in lighting and Rigging, then this is the book for you. Learn how to work with Electrical and Grip. Learn all the little things you need to know to be a Best Boy or Key. It's just a great starting point. |
Need to know where to get your script? This is a really good book, with a ton of names and companies where you can get your stuff seen. You need to know who is looking for what and where to send your pitch. |
Need some inspiration? This is the book to read. If at any point in your film career you feel like nothing good can ever happen to you, this will prove to you that with hard work anything is possible. |
Get the writing mind set. This is a great book to get you into the right frame of mind to write your screenplay. A lot of wonderful interviews, tid bits and stories to get your brain rolling. |
Don't get screwed with your screenplay. A lot of useful advice what to do and what not to do. Legal and other wise |
How to get through the first line of defense. This is a book written by a reader in Hollywood. She knows what gets through and what doesn't. She has other helpful tips but just because she has been a reader for so long makes this book so worth the price. |
Another great tech book. This is the book for grips. All the specs you could ever need on dollies, jib arms and cranes. If you want to be a grip, you need to know this stuff. |
